Adventurers Wanted! (Or how you can help raise money for Extra Life and our local children’s hospital!)
This year is our third year in business and our third year raising money for Extra Life, with the proceeds directly benefiting our local children's hospital, Roanoke Carilion Children’s. Since our founding in 2020 we have raised over $8,600 for our local hospital and have become the highest Extra Life donor for our hospital for the past two years straight. Extra Life reached out to us early this year with the following message:

I am reaching out to you today to share that YOU are the top fundraiser for 2022 out of all the Extra Life supporters for your hospital! Going above and beyond, for local kids, means that because of you, there will be more treatments, more birthdays, more laughter, and of course, more miracles. In a time like no other, you chose to rise above for families you will likely never meet. Your efforts just shows that every individual can really make a world of difference for their local community.
On behalf of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, we wanted to extend a thank you to you, for all the support you provide to patients and families during their journeys at Carilion Children's and let you know that your hard work does not go unnoticed. We are so thankful for everything that this awesome charity does for kids and we are both humbled and inspired by their words. For 2023 we were inspired to set the bar even higher—we hope to raise $5, 000 for our Extra Life Charity—and we can only do it with your help! We are adding an additional 12-Hour Charity Marathon this year in honor of Extra Life United. On April 8, from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, I will run one of my favorite modules: Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan, and will live-stream it on our Twitch channel!
As of the writing of this blog, we still have a few spots open for the marathon but they do fill quickly! If you have kept up with our past marathons, you know that the Giants have been defeated; however, there are still plenty of tombs to delve into and treasure to seek! In this module, Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan, the party finds themselves in a dangerous predicament as they explore the ancient ruined city of Tamoachan wherein a hidden shrine dedicated to a dark god is rumored to exist.
Along with a new marathon and a new module, we will also be introducing new incentives this year, which players and viewers can purchase in order to help (or hurt) our party and of course, the biggest reason of all, to help us raise more money for Extra Life and meet our annual goal for 2023 of $5,000!
