Announcing Our Latest GM AMA
That’s right, folks! Today we are announcing our second Game Master Ask Me Anything (GM AMA). This will be a Facebook Live event hosted on Sunday, June 27th at 12:00 pm EST. I will be live on Facebook and viewers are encouraged to post questions during that time. You can also email us your questions ahead of time at karington@openheartgames.com. And if you have a question that you don’t want discussed during the event but still need an answer to, we are always happy to answer any inquiries via email! In case you missed it last time, here’s a bit of a recap on what the GM AMA is and why we do it.
Charity is at the heart of what we do. We give a portion of each month’s sales directly to our local children’s hospital, Carillion Children’s, via the Extra Life charity. Our GM AMA is another way for us to give back. Namely, by giving back to the tremendous gaming community that has offered us so much. Our hope with the GM AMA is for players and Game Masters alike to come to us with any and all questions about the hobby. We want to provide a safe and fun space where we can foster and encourage future generations of Game Masters and storytellers. This event, which we hope to offer quarterly, will always be free. However, we do encourage those of you who attend to make a donation, in any amount, to our Extra Life page. This money will go directly to helping children and their families.
We had a great turnout for our first GM AMA in March and we are hoping for an even larger turnout this time! For those of you who missed it the first time, you can catch it here. In that first GM AMA, I answered a variety of questions from what to do when you’ve made a mistake, advice for first session jitters, advice on characters (deaths, backstories, etc.), to handling difficult players. In this month’s GM AMA I hope we can tackle some more pressing questions like how to prep for a session, ways to make those sessions memorable, what to do when a player leaves your game mid-campaign, and anything and everything else that y’all want to hear!
We are super excited to host this event once again and we hope you can attend. This event is for you, our amazing gaming community, and, as always, for the kids. Mark your calendars now for our GM AMA!
Hope to See you There!
Take Heart,
Karington Hess
