The Giants are Back! Extra Life Game Day 12 Hour Marathon!
Celebrate Extra Life Game Day 2021 With Open Heart Games!
We were blown away by the response to our first 12 Hour Marathon which we hosted last month in honor of Extra Life’s Tabletop Appreciation Weekend. With that event, where 100% of the proceeds went directly to charity, we were able to surpass our goal donation for the year ($1,000) and do so 4 months ahead of schedule! We extend a sincere thank you to all who made this possible.
We were recently informed by our Extra Life Liaison that we are in second place as the largest Extra Life Donor to Carilion Children’s! We are over the moon about this and have decided to do everything we can to reach first place! With that in mind, our new goal is to reach $2,000 by the end of the year! But we’re going to need your help!
In honor of Extra Life Game Day, and by popular demand, we are bringing back our 12 Hour Marathon and continuing Against the Giants. . .this time with Frost Giants! The event will take place Saturday, November 6th from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm EST and will once again be live-streamed on Twitch! Registration for this event will open October 1st and will be limited to 7 players.
Charity is at the heart of what we do and the entire ticket price of this event, every penny, will go directly to Extra Life and benefit our local children’s hospital. Tickets will be $100 and you will make your “payment” directly to Extra Life. I will be continuing the classic Dungeons & Dragons module (updated for 5E): Against the Giants from Tales from the Yawning Portal, an adventure pitting players against several types of giants whom the players have been hired to defeat!
The entire marathon will be live-streamed on our Twitch channel! We encourage everyone to tune in (even if just for a bit)! Even if you don’t wish to participate as a player, there will be opportunities for viewers to participate too via the chat feature. And of course, we will be encouraging all viewers to make a donation to Extra Life and their noble cause!
Again, this 12 Hour Marathon will take place on Saturday, November 6th 10:00 am EST – 10:00 pm EST. Cost is $100 donated directly to Extra Life and seating is limited to 7 players.
